QUOTABLE
Pepperdine Head Coach Tim Ward said: "It's a rare thing to be this proud of a team after a defeat, but our Waves were magnificent tonight!
"Every single woman was up for the battle tonight and put in a herculean effort against arguably one of the most powerful attacking teams in the country. Not only did we defend brilliantly, we created some of the best chances in the game. Although we were really disappointed with the outcome, this team took a huge step forward tonight.
"We're really hopeful our name will be called on Monday for the NCAA tourney."
