Soccer's Historic Run Ends at #1 Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Florida  The #19 Pepperdine women's soccer team's historic season came to an end after a hard-fought battle against #1 Florida State, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon in the Round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament.

The Waves (17-4-1) played a strong game against the Seminoles (19-1-2), the tournament's overall number one seed, but fell short after an early goal. The Waves managed four shots, but none on goal, against a strong FSU defense.

Pepperdine's defense was also stellar, holding a team that was averaging nearly three goals a game to just the one tally. FSU was limited to nine shots, one off their season low.

GOALS

Florida State 5': The Seminoles went down the right side of the field and sent a long pass into the box. Jody Brown ran onto it, cut back and sent in a left-footed shot that hit off the post and rolled into the net.
