MALIBU, California – Four members of the Pepperdine men's water polo team received All-Golden Coast Conference honors today, highlighted by Balazs Kosa making the first team for the third consecutive season.
 
Additionally, Sean Ferrari, Nicholas Fichman and Nico Tierney all received honorable mention notice.
 
Kosa (Budapest, Hungary), a senior attacker, received All-GCC honors for the fourth time in his four years. He also made the second team as a freshman. The three-time All-American leads the GCC in points (96), assists (49) and field blocks (18) and ranks tied for seventh in steals (24) and eighth in goals (47). Kosa had 11 goals and 13 assists in the five GCC contests.
 
Ferrari (Redwood City, Calif./St. Francis HS), a senior utility, made All-GCC for the second time. He was on the second team this past spring. He ranks fourth in the GCC in steals (35), fifth in assists (30) and eighth in points (71). He has scored 41 goals this season.
 
Fichman (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Orange Coast College), a senior center, received his first All-GCC award. He has contributed 34 goals this season.
 
Tierney (Sierra Madre, Calif./Harvard-Westlake HS), a sophomore center defender, also earned an All-GCC nod for the first time. He has posted totals of 34 goals, 24 assists and 58 points this season. He's tied for seventh in the GCC with 24 steals.
 
The Waves (14-12, 1-4) earned the #5 seed at this weekend's GCC Championships, hosted by UC Irvine, and they'll face #4-seed San Jose State on Friday (Nov. 19) at 7 p.m. in the opening round.

All-GCC second team: Andrej Bosanac (Long Beach State), Cole Brosnan (UC Santa Barbara), Reuel D'Souza (Pacific), Casey Lynton (UC Irvine), Matt Morris (Long Beach State), Sam Nangle (UC Santa Barbara), Leo Yuno (UC Santa Barbara).
