Lexie Deitemeyer (Golden, Colo./Golden HS) had the best swim performance of the day for Pepperdine. Deitemeyer raced out to a third-place finish in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 26.66 seconds, merely .59 seconds off the winner. Emily Morton (Golden, Colo./Lakewood HS) followed up Deitemeyer with a fourth-place finish in the 50-yard backstroke at a time of 28.33 seconds.

Other top individual Pepperdine performers were Paige Tattersall (Granite Bay, Calif./Granite Bay HS) in the 50-yard breaststroke, Emma Purdy (Truckee, Calif./Truckee HS) in the 50-yard freestyle and Deitemeyer in the 100-yard IM. In relays, Jenna Sanchez (Highland, Calif./Redlands East Valley HS), Purdy, Jasmine Williams (Folsom, Calif./Folsom HS) and Alexandra Browne (Arlington, Va./Washington-Liberty HS) earned the top Pepperdine time for the 200-yard freestyle relay, while Williams, Morton, Deitemeyer and Purdy were the top Waves finishers in the 200-yard medley relay.

QUOTABLE: "I think the Waves had a strong showing today. We had a late start to the meet but I thought we handled the adversity well. Standouts today were our freshman, especially our diver, Lexie Martin, in her debut on the 1 meter. Freshman Lexie Deitemeyer also had some great swims showing her versatility. I am excited to see what the team can put together tomorrow with a normal lineup."
--Head Coach Ellie Monobe
