HAYWARD, California – The Pepperdine swimming and diving team fell to Cal State East Bay on Friday in its second dual meet of the season.
MEET RECAP
Emma Purdy (Truckee, Calif./Truckee HS) claimed the only win of the day for the Waves, leading the pack in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.15.
Other top performers include
Kara Coughlin (Evergreen, Colo./Evergreen HS/Florida State) taking second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:10.40,
Emily Morton (Golden, Colo./Lakewood HS) placing second in the 200-yard IM with a 2:12.88 time and the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Purdy,
Ellie Hendren (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista HS),
Alexandra Browne (Arlington, Va./Washington-Liberty HS) and
Jenna Sanchez (Highland, Calif./Redlands East Valley HS) earning second with a time of 1:40.94.
Third-place finishers include
Lindsey Marian (Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Preparatory School) in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:15.01),
Jessica Calderoni (Los Altos Calif./Sacred Heart Preparatory) in the 200-yard butterfly (2:16.85), Morton in the 200-yard backstroke (2:11.06) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.56), Browne in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:35.01) and
Olivia Kayye (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill HS) in the 500-yard freestyle (5:24.73). Pepperdine's 400-yard medley relay team of Morton, Kayye,
Lexie Deitemeyer (Golden, Colo./Golden HS) and Sanchez claimed third with a time of 4:03.43. Overall, Cal State East Bay defeated Pepperdine 196-66.
