Cross Country Wraps Up Regular Season at Bronco Invitational

MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine men's and women's cross country teams will finish the regular season at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational on Saturday morning.Â
MEET DETAILS
This meet will be held at Baylands Regional Park in Sunnyvale, California. The men's 8K Invitational will begin at 8:45 a.m. followed by the women's 6K Invitational at 9:30 a.m. The men's and women's Open races will be held at 10:15 a.m. and 11 a.m., respectively. The Waves are slated to have runners in all four races.Â
NOTABLE
Pepperdine Head Coach Lauren Floris said: "Since our last races we have been training very hard. The athletes are very excited for this racing opportunity and are ready to show off the fitness we've gained over the past three weeks. Santa Clara has a fast course and the weather this weekend looks perfect for cross country, so we're hopeful that there'll be some fast times out there."

Pepperdine will have a two-week break before heading to Concord for the West Coast Conference Championships on Friday, October 29.

- The men's and women's team split up and competed in the Roy Griak Invitational and The Master's Invitational. In the Roy Griak Invitational the men finished 15th and the women finished 21st the last time out on Sept. 24-25. At The Master's Invitational, the women are coming off of a second-place finish and the men only had four runners and did not accumulate a team score in the race.Â
- Senior Karl Winter (Stockton, Calif./Saint Mary's HS) led the men at the Roy Griak Invitational in a time of 25:54.9, 69th overall.Â
- Freshman Megan LaCamera (Burbank, Calif./Burbank HS) led the women at the Roy Griak Invitational in a time of 23:51.7, 146th overall.Â
- Sophomore Elle Shrader (Boerne, Texas/Boerne-Samuel V. Champion HS) led the women at The Master's Invitational with a ninth-place finish in a time of 20:40.4.
- Sophomore Austin Gromer (Casper, Wyo./Mountain View HS) led the men at The Master's Invitational with a 16th-place finish in a time of 27:18.5.
