Malibu, Calif. — The 2020-21 Pepperdine women's swim and dive schedule was released Monday by first-year head coach Ellie Monobe and her staff.
Four of the initially planned meets will be at home before the Waves compete at the Pacific Collegiate Swim and Dive Conference Championships from April 14-17. Start times and location for the PCSC Championships have not been announced. The schedule is subject to change.
The first season under Monobe and her staff kicks off with back-to-back home meets on Jan. 15-16. First on Friday, Jan. 15, the Waves host San Diego State in a dual meet at noon. SDSU's women's swimming and diving team won a Mountain West Conference title last season before the season was cut short. Then Pepperdine will have a quick turnaround, as the Waves will host San Diego — assistant coach Kristyn Deckard's alma mater — and Loyola Marymount on Saturday, Jan. 16 at noon.
Pepperdine's first road meet is scheduled for Jan. 29, when the Waves travel to San Diego to face San Diego State in a second dual meet. Currently, the lone meet in February will be at Loyola Marymount against the host team Lions and Westmont College, both of whom are members of the PCSC.
The Waves return home for two more dual meets in March, as they will host Biola on Saturday, March 13, followed by a third meeting with LMU on Saturday, March 20.
Fans will not be permitted to attend the home meets as long as the current Los Angeles County and state of California rules are in effect. Most home meets are expected to be streamed online.
