MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine baseball's
Wil Jensen has signed with the San Francisco Giants as an undrafted free agent, the right-handed pitcher announced Tuesday.
Jensen is the lone Wave to sign with a professional organization following the shortened 2020 MLB Draft.
In his four years with the Waves, Jensen flourished, putting up a career 3.03 ERA over 160.1 innings pitched. His 2018 season was his best, going 5-0 in seven starts with a 0.74 ERA before undergoing Tommy John surgery on his throwing arm. In the shortened 2020 season, he started four games, compiling a 3-0 record and 2.19 ERA over 24.2 innings. He struck out 26 batters, walking just six.
Jensen helped the Waves to a peak ranking of #16 in the country before the season was shortened due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
