MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine baseball head coach Rick Hirtensteiner added to his 2021 team with the signing of Brandon Llewellyn, as announced on Tuesday.
Llewellyn is a right-handed pitcher from Fort Worth, Texas. As a junior at IMG Academy, he helped lead his team to a national championship, earning first team All-District honors. He was also named to the All-State second team as a sophomore. He was a Perfect Game nationals participant, and was named both an Underclass All-American and a third-team All-American.
"I chose Pepperdine because it is the best decision for my future to attend a prestigious university," said Llewellyn. "There is no better place in the nation to be competing for a championship and beginning my career."
"The Waves coaching staff is excited Brandon Llewellyn will be wearing a Pepperdine uniform next year," said Hirtensteiner. "Brandon is a polished pitcher who throws a ton of strikes and moves the ball around the zone very well. He has the lethal combination of low walks and high strikeouts that coaches love to see. With all the success Brandon has already seen on the mound, I believe his best pitching days are still ahead of him as he has a huge upside. Brandon competes on the mound and will be a great fit for the Pepperdine University community."
Llewellyn joins Zach Chonkich, Thomas Saggese, Dylan Schwartz, Bailey Uderitz, Beckett Vine and Hayden Walker in the 2021 class.
