MALIBU, Calif. – The sixth-ranked Pepperdine women's tennis team heads to the Windy City for the 2020 ITA National Team Indoor Championships this weekend to compete against the top 16 teams in the country.
The tournament consists of each team that won their respective ITA Kick-Off Weekend regional. Schools from seven NCAA conferences will be represented

SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS
One of six teams representing the Atlantic Coast Conference, fifth-ranked Duke boasts four ranked singles players and a single ranked doubles tandem. The Blue Devils sit in second place in the ACC after a 2-4 loss to #12 Ohio State. Duke won their respective ITA Kick-Off regional, however, over Tulsa 4-0. Last season, the Blue Devils finished 27-4 in the NCAA Semifinals.
SURF REPORT
The #6 Waves are no strangers to the #5 Blue Devils, as the two teams have met 12 times dating back to 1987. Overall, Pepperdine is 5-7 against Duke, as the most recent matchup came in last season's indoor championships where the Blue Devils took a 4-0 win in Seattle, Wash.
Also on the Waves' end of the Bracket are the likes of #2 North Carolina, #3 Georgia, #7 NC State, #11 Virginia, #14 Arizona State and #17 Princeton.
KICKING THINGS OFF
#6 Pepperdine played host to the 2020 ITA Kick-Off Weekend two weeks ago, defeating the likes of UNLV and Arkansas to claim the crown, going 4-0 and 4-1 respectively.
#1 ON THE COURT AND OUR HEARTS
Senior
Ashley Lahey remained #1 in the ITA singles rankings this week after sweeping her opponents last weekend and an undefeated fall season, winning the 2019 Oracle/ITA Masters, the Women's Collegiate Invitational and the ITA All-American Championships. Lahey has still yet to be beaten, as she took a 6-0, 6-4 win over UNLV's No. 1 Izumi Asano followed by a 6-3, 6-2 win over Arkansas No. 1.
