CARROLLTON, Texas – Top-five performances by Dylan Menante and RJ Manke lifted the Pepperdine men's golf team into a strong second-place finish at the Maridoe Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday.
Â
The Waves posted a three-day total of 883 (302-294-287) at the par-72 Maridoe Golf Club and finished just three shots back of the winner, Oklahoma State. Pepperdine was in third place following both the first and second rounds but was one of just two teams to go below-par in the final round.
Â
The Big-12 heavy tournament included the top four teams in the national rankings when last season ended in March: Pepperdine, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and Texas. The Waves defeated all three head-to-head, and will see those same three schools again next week at the prestigious East Lake Cup.
