WOLCOTT, Colorado – Alexa Melton went below-par for the second straight day, though the Pepperdine women's golf team is in now in fourth place after Tuesday's second round at the Golfweek Conference Challenge.
The Waves have a two-day total of a 2-over 578 (281-297) at the par-72 Red Sky Golf Club Fazio Course. They began the day tied for first with Ole Miss.
Pepperdine has won this tournament -- which features schools from 18 different conferences -- four times, last in 2014, and has finished second each of the last three years.
PLAYER SCORES
- Freshman Alexa Melton (Covina, Calif./South Hills HS) is tied for seventh place with a 5-under 139 (68-71). Her 1-under today featured three birdies, including one on 18 to finish the round.
- Senior Momoka Kobori (Rangiora, New Zealand) is tied for 11th with a 2-under 142 (67-75). She had one birdie on Tuesday.
- Freshman Reese Guzman (Kahului, Hawai'i/Maui HS) climbed up to a tie for 29th at 147 (74-73). She had five birdies on the day, four on the back nine.
- Sophomore Sifan He (Shanghai, China) is tied for 45th at 150 (72-78). She had three birdies in the second round.
- Junior Megan Dennis (Bedfordshire, United Kingdom/Florida Tech) is tied for 85th at 160 (79-81). She had two birdies today.
- Playing as an individual, sophomore Kathrine Chan (Richmond, B.C., Canada) is tied for 45th at 150 (72-78). She had one birdie today.

For Wednesday's third and final round, the Waves will be paired with Ole Miss, Denver and San Diego State with a shotgun start set for 9 a.m. CT.
