TEMPE, Ariz. – Pepperdine women's tennis standout
Ashley Lahey was awarded All-Academic Scholar Athlete honors, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Thursday morning.
Lahey, a junior out of Hawthorne, Calif., achieved a 4.0 grade point average while studying sports medicine through the 2018-2019 season, where she finished ranked #27 in singles and #64 in doubles. The West Coast Conference also awarded her with All-Academic status where she was named to the first team.
The criteria for Scholar Athlete status states that the athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.50 and must have been enrolled at the present school for at least two semesters.
In addition, the women's tennis team was announced as an All-Academic Team, which is awarded to "any ITA program that has a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or above." Five Waves had accumulated a GPA of over 3.20.
