Lahey Bows Out of NCAA Tournament

ORLANDO, Fla. – The 37th-ranked Ashley Lahey of the Pepperdine women's tennis team faltered 7-6, 6-4 in the second round of the NCAA Singles Tournament on Tuesday afternoon at the USTA National Campus.

RECAP
In the first set, Lahey pushed the No. 7 player in the country, Ashley Graham, into a tiebreaker, where the two stood neck and neck until Graham beat Lahey to the punch at 7-6.
 
The second set saw another Lahey comeback effort as the two were tied up again at 4-4, but it wasn't enough to score the upset as Graham took the set and the match 6-4.
 
The junior out of Hawthorne, Calif. saw a season full of many accomplishments and awards, where she was named the West Coast Conference singles player of the week three times as well as the WCC pair of the week with partner Daria Kuzcer twice. Lahey was also named to the WCC singles 1st team and doubles 2nd team while garnering recognition in the classroom with an All-Academic WCC nod.
 
Lahey finished the season 21-10 in singles play and 12-3 in doubles.
