RANCHO SANTA FE, California – The Pepperdine women's golf team was locked in a close battle with Texas Tech during the second round of match play at the Lamkin Invitational, and it was
Hira Naveed who won her final two holes to lift the Waves to a 3-2 victory over the Red Raiders on Tuesday.
Pepperdine has advanced to the fifth-place match and will face San Jose State on Wednesday at the Farms Golf Club.

MATCH RECAP
Naveed (Perth, Australia) was down two after nine holes but tied it after 13. It was still tied after 16 holes, but her par on the 17th combined with a Texas Tech bogey put Naveed up one, and her birdie on the 18th clinched the win.
Kobori (Rangiora, New Zealand) won the first hole, and maintained her lead for 17 of 18 holes. She was 1-up with one to play and birdied the final hole to finish 2-up.
Wong (Walnut, Calif./Walnut HS) put together an excellent performance, winning each of the first two holes, going 3-up after four holes and 4-up after six holes. She then cruised to a 5&4 win.
