RANCHO SANTA FE, California – The Pepperdine women's golf team posted the best score during stroke play at San Diego State's Lamkin Invitational on Monday, but the Waves were unfortunately upset by Sacramento State during the first round of match play.
The Waves shot a 298 on Monday morning at the par-72 Farms Golf Club, best among the 12 teams and giving them the top seed for match play. But on Monday afternoon, Sacramento State earned a 3.5 to 1.5 win, with freshman
Kathrine Chan (Richmond, B.C., Canada) gaining the Waves' only victory.
Pepperdine takes on Texas Tech on Tuesday in consolation play.
