RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's basketball team recorded the program's first postseason win in the modern era with a 91-79 decision over California Baptist. Yasmine Robinson-Bacote grabbed yet another double-double with 31 points and 15 rebounds as Barbara Sitanggan dropped 14 points and dished seven dimes while breaking the single-season record for made free throws (162).
The Waves (21-11,12-6 WCC) led the Lancers (18-12, 11-5 WAC) through over 20 minutes of the contest. CBU finished their season second in the Western Athletic Conference at 18-12 overall.

·       Barbara Sitanggan (Fullerton, Calif./ Troy HS) tacked on14 points, grabbed four boards and went 10-11 at the charity stripe. She now holds the Pepperdine single-season record for made free-throws at 162.

GAME RECAP
The Waves started off hot in the first quarter as Skye Lindsay came off the bench to spark the Pepperdine offense with some quick paint work and Yasmine Robinson-Bacote scored on back-to-back drives. In the second quarter, however, Lindsay grabbed two fouls, forcing her to sit and the Lancers scooped up four and-one calls on as many trips down the floor. CBU led 41-37 going into the locker rooms.

The second half of play proved just as difficult, with 12 lead changes and a total of 37 turnovers committed by both teams. The Waves led by four going into the last quarter, as free throws sealed the deal with Sitanggan draining six of her 10 during the fourth. Pepperdine took off on a 6-0 run and never looked back, leading by as much as 12.

The postseason win marks the program's first since the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) era in the 1970s when the 1977-78 team finished 6th in AIAW play. It is also the first postseason win for second-year head coach Delisha Milton-Jones.

UP NEXT
Pepperdine continues WNIT play against the winner of Hawaii and Saint Mary's, and have the chance to host the next round at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu. The Waves have recorded wins over both teams, taking a 65-64 win over Hawaii during the first game of the season and split the season with the Gaels, winning their most recent contest 77-72 in Firestone.
