MATCH RECAP
Tulane started strong right out the gate, taking the doubles matches on courts two and three quickly to secure the doubles point. Oetzbach and Zeitvogel trailed 4-5 when the point was clinched.
In singles, Rico was the only wave to win his match, as the freshman from Spain defeated Hamish Stewart in dominating fashion, 6-2, 6-4. Zeitvogel and Jankowiak nearly forced third sets on courts five and six, but dropped each of their second sets, 7-5.
QUOTABLE
"We missed an opportunity today. Credit to Tulane for playing a great match. They are tough at every position and they battled. But, we didn't bring the urgency we wanted to see after a good effort at TCU.
"Enrique continues to build on a strong season. His growth this spring has been incredible to watch."
NEXT UP
The Waves are back in action on Wednesday, March 20, when they host both Wisconsin and Omaha in a double header, with the match against Wisconsin beginning at 12 pm.
