Points were at a premium in the first ten minutes, as the quarter ended with the Waves leading 12-8. The second quarter was close as well, with only as big a lead as four points for either team. The Dons took their first lead of the game halfway through the quarter and again with three minutes left, but thanks to eight points from Robinson-Bacote down the stretch, the Waves took a 32-30 lead into the locker room at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Dons kept it close, tying the game at 36 with seven minutes left in the quarter but the Waves pulled away, eventually leading by seven with a minute and a half left thanks to a jumper from Rose Pflug (Eugene, Ore./Sunset HS). Going in to the fourth, the Waves had a 49-44 lead.
The fourth quarter started off close, with the teams trading points until there were six minutes left to play. At that point, the Waves went on an 8-0 run, taking their largest lead of the day at 10 points, which proved too much for the Dons, as the Waves took the 6-point victory.
