SAN LUIS OBISPO, California – Kathrine Chan turned in the first top-20 finish of her college career to lead the Pepperdine women's golf team at the Bruin Wave Invitational on Tuesday.
The Waves finished in ninth place with a two-day total of 927 (306-313-308) at the par-72 San Luis Obispo Country Club. The tournament boasted an impressive field, as seven of the eight teams ahead of the #25 Waves are ranked in Golfstat's top 50, including the champion, #5 Stanford.
PLAYER SCORES
- Freshman Kathrine Chan (Richmond, B.C., Canada) tied for 15th place at 227 (79-75-73). Her final round included three birdies.
- Senior Hira Naveed (Perth, Australia) tied for 29th place at 230 (72-78-80).
- Junior Momoka Kobori (Rangiora, New Zealand) tied for 53rd at 236 (78-81-77).
- Senior Patricia Wong (Walnut, Calif./Walnut HS) tied for 59th at 237 (79-79-79).
- Playing as an individual, freshman Sifan He (Shanghai, China) tied for 59th at 237 (79-83-75).
- Senior Hannah Haythorne (Honolulu, Hawai'i/IMG Academy) tied for 62nd at 239 (77-83-79).
