MALIBU, California – Three members of the Pepperdine women's soccer team earned All-West Region status from United Soccer Coaches on Monday, with
Joelle Anderson on the first team,
Trinity Watson on the second team and
Isabel Nelson on the third team.
Anderson (San Jose, Calif./Harker School), a junior forward, has earned All-West Region honors for the second time in her career, as she made the second team as a freshman in 2017. Anderson also made the All-WCC first team this season as she led the Waves with seven goals and 18 points.
Watson (Ocean Beach, Calif./Point Loma HS) and Nelson (Houston, Texas/The Kinkaid School), both sophomore central defenders, helped the Waves post 10 shutouts (tied for second in the WCC) and a 1.14 goals-against average (third in the WCC). Watson made the All-WCC first team this season with three goals and one assist. Nelson made the All-WCC second team with two goals.
The Waves went 11-6-3 this season, finishing third in the West Coast Conference while making it to the NCAA Tournament for the 11th time in program history.
This is the eighth time that the Waves have had at least three student-athletes earn All-West Region honors.
