MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's basketball team trailed by as many as 12 points before mounting a comeback to defeat UC Davis on Thursday 70-67 in Firestone Fieldhouse.
Barbara Sitanggan led the Waves with 13 points.
The Waves (6-3) put up 42 points in the second half of the game, and kept the Aggies (4-7) to just 29 to seal the victory.

- Senior guard Barbara Sitanggan (Fullerton, Calif./Troy HS) led the Waves with 13 points. She was also just a single rebound away from a double-double.
- Senior guard Paige Fecske (Studio City, Calif./Chaminade HS) dropped 11 points, shooting 5-10 on the day.
- Junior forward Monique Andriuolo (Melbourne, Australia/Maribyrnong Secondary College) scored six points and brought down 10 rebounds. She also had a season-high two blocks.
- Redshirt-freshman guard Jayla Ruffus Milner (Los Angeles, Calif./Harvard-Westlake HS) scored 12 points, shooting 4-5 from the field.
- Sophomore guard Cheyenne Givens (Los Angeles, Calif./LA Trade Tech) scored nine points, shooting 4-10 from the field.
PLAY-BY-PLAY
UC Davis started the game on a 10-2 run before got to within three thanks to two free-throws from
Malia Bambrick (Santa Clarita, Calif./Bishop Alemany HS). The Aggies led 17-12 at the end of the first quarter.
Halfway through the second quarter, the Waves tied the game at 26 on two free-throws from
Hannah Friend (San Clemente, Calif./Sacramento State). The Aggies retook the lead, going on a 12-2 run to end the half with a 38-28 lead.
The Waves scored the first 10 points of the second half, capping off the run with a three-pointer from Friend to tie the game at 40. Both teams scored buckets throughout the quarter and went into the final 10 minutes tied at 50.
Pepperdine took the lead for the first time at the beginning of the fourth quarter, when Givens hit her only three-pointer of the game. The Aggies went on a small run, to retake the lead at 58-57 before a layup from
Jayla Ruffus-Milner gave the Waves a lead which they did not give back, securing their sixth win of the year.
