Swim/Dive Cruises Past LMU

MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's swim and dive team hosted Loyola Marymount on Friday evening. Taking home wins in 12 out of the 14 events for a 180-82 win over the Lions.
MEET RECAP
The Waves started the meet off with a win in the women's 400 medley relay, from Emily Morton, Anna Riekhof, Sarah Hamilton, and Jenna Sanchez with a time of 4:01.72.

In the third event, the 200 freestyle, the Waves took home the top four places with Nohea Lileikis posting the win in a time of 1:55.40, followed by Sammie Slater (1:57.98), Julianna Birlin (2:00.08) and Khloe McCarthy (2:00.13).

Caroline Eckel snagged two individual wins in both the 100 and 200 backstroke with times of 58.13 and 2:09.76 respectively. In the 200 butterfly, Caroline Anderson received the win with a time of 2:10.29. Mackenzie Hamlett battled to first in the 500 freestyle, swimming a 5:10.75.

Sanchez earned her own individual win in the 50 freestyle, touching in a time of 24.93. In the 100 freestyle Amy Griffin won with a time of 53.96, she was followed closely by Slater in second (54.93). Morton swam really well with two first place finishes for herself in the 200 breaststroke (2:25.66) and 200 IM (2:08.88).

The squad of Birlin, Griffin, Sanchez and Slater took home the final win on the day in the 200 freestyle relay, touching in a time of 1:39.83. The Waves followed with a second place finish as well from the team of Trinity Ishikawa, Paige Brackett, Eckel and Lileikis (1:41.41).
