Malibu, Calif. – Senior Chris Dilworth of the #6 Pepperdine men's water polo team was named Golden Coast Conference Player of the Week, as announce by the conference on Thursday.
Dilworth scored a hat trick on Saturday to secure the Waves' 10-9 victory over Long Beach State. His goal late in the fourth quarter broke an 8-8 tie and gave the Waves the lead for good. He currently has 35 goals on the season, good for fourth on the team.
"Chris has been a great leader for us this year as one of our team captains," said associate head coach Merrill Moses. "It really showed when he put the team on his back in the second half against Long Beach. He knew how important that win was not only to win another game, but in seeding for the conference tournament next weekend."
He is the third Wave to earn the award this year, as both Balazs Kosa (Oct. 10) and Marko Asic (Oct. 17) took home the award as well.
Dilworth and the four other seniors (Asic, George Mooney, Sean Thomas and Mate Toth) will be honored in their final home regular season game on Saturday against UC Santa Barbara.
