Men's Golf Done With Two Rounds in Georgia

ALPHARETTA, Georgia – Fighting the rain and wind, the Pepperdine men's golf team dropped to fourth place following the conclusion of Saturday's second round at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational.

The Waves have a two-day total of a 7-over 583 (276-307) at the par-72 Golf Club of Georgia. They went from a seven-shot lead after Friday to eight shots back heading into the final round.

Pepperdine is ranked #5 in the newest Golfweek Bushnell coaches poll that was released before the start of the tournament. Also playing in this tournament are #1 Georgia Tech, #2 Wake Forest, #10 Duke, #12 North Carolina, #14 Clemson, #16 Texas A&M and #25 Tennessee.

For Sunday's third and final round, the Waves will be paired with Wake Forest and Stanford and they'll start on the first tee at 6:55 a.m. PT. This is the Waves' final tournament of the fall season.

- Senior Sahith Theegala (Chino Hills, Calif./Diamond Bar HS) had the Waves' best round on Saturday, an even-par 72. He's now tied for seventh place with a 1-under 143 (71-72). His round included four birdies, three of which came on the front nine.
- Freshman William Mouw (Chino, Calif./Ontario Christian HS) is tied for 15th at 145 (69-76).
- Sophomore Joe Highsmith (Lakewood, Wash./Bellarmine Prep) is tied for 25th at 147 (68-79). He had one birdies on Saturday.
- Senior Joshua McCarthy (Danville, Calif./De La Salle HS) is tied for 37th at 149 (68-81). He had one birdie in the second round.
