SAN DIEGO, Calif. – All three members of the Pepperdine women's tennis team supplied wins through the first rounds of the 2019 ITA Southwest Regional on Thursday hosted by San Diego and San Diego State. The Waves were all awarded byes through their first round of singles and doubles.

Kuczer (PEPP) def. Kim (UH) – 4-6, 6-2, 6-1
Zaar (PEPP) def. Khatmara (UCSB) – 6-3, 6-1
Iamachkine (PEPP) def. Nadozie (SDSU) – 6-3, 6-4

In singles, the Waves dominated through the round of 64 after receiving byes in the round of 128. Freshman
Lisa Zaar defeated UCSB's Khatmova 6-3, 6-1, as
Anastasia Iamachkine earned a 6-3, 6-4 win over Nadozie of SDSU.
Daria Kuczer held on for a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 win over Hawaii's Kim en route to the round of 32. All three Waves will play their next singles rounds beginning around 10 a.m. tomorrow.
The doubles team of Zaar/Kuczer did not play today in light of a bye, but will play tomorrow at 9 a.m. against a Cal State – Fullerton pair of Acidera and Valenzuela.
