WAVEPOINTS
• After beating PCH Cup rival Loyola Marymount on Thursday to open West Coast Conference play, the Pepperdine men's basketball team gets to host another one of the league's top teams in San Francisco on Saturday.
• Lorenzo Romar's second stint as head coach with the Waves is off to a good start. Romar's next victory will be a milestone 400th career win.
• The Waves won their conference opener for the first time since 2014-15 and are hoping to start 2-0 for the first time since 2013-14.
• To do so, the Waves will have to end a streak of six consecutive home losses to the Dons.
• Colbey Ross is fifth in the WCC in scoring (19.0) and first in assists (7.5). Nationally, he's fifth in assists and among the top four in free throws made and attempted (99-for-121). He's had 13 and 12 assists in the last two games, and he could become only the second Wave ever to post three consecutive 10+ assist games.
• Eric Cooper Jr. recently surpassed the 1,000-point milestone for his college career (which includes his time at Nevada).
• Six Waves currently have scoring averages in double-figures.
• The Waves lead the WCC and are 26th nationally in turnover margin (+4.1). Only one time in 15 games has Pepperdine committed more turnovers than the opponent.
• Pepperdine was hoping to stay healthy after being decimated by injuries the last two years. The Waves lost 99 player-games in 2016-17 and 81 in 2017-18. Thankfully, Kameron Edwards, who missed 10 games, returned against Alabama A&M and he's averaging 13.0 points in the past two games.
• The Waves matched their 2017-18 win total of six in their 10th game, and surpassed it with their seventh win in the 14th game.
• The Waves go on their first conference road trip next weekend with games at Santa Clara and San Diego.

WAVECASTS — Saturday's game can be listened to online with WaveCasts. Veteran play-by-play man Al Epstein, a 2015 Pepperdine Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, will be behind the microphone (now in his 34th season, this will be his 1,019th consecutive broadcast for the Waves).
WATCH — The USF game will be shown everywhere on TheW.tv. Dan Hellie, Dani Klupenger and Sammy O'Brien are the broadcasters.
TICKETS — Single-game tickets for most Pepperdine home games are $25 for reserved seating, $15 for adult general admission and $12 for child general admission. Select premium games are $30, $20 and $12, respectively. Tickets are available via PepperdineWaves.com or by calling (310) 506-4935.
PEPPERDINE — Pepperdine boasts a one-of-a-kind athletic department with unprecedented success for a school of its size. The Waves have won NCAA Division I championships in five different men's sports — one of just 18 schools to have accomplished this feat — and nine overall. Of this elite group, Pepperdine has the smallest undergraduate enrollment, is the only school without football and is the only university that has not been affiliated with a "major" conference. The Waves have won a total of 25 team or individual national championships in their history. Pepperdine has also earned the Division I-AAA All-Sports Trophy, an award based on postseason success that's given to the top non-football school, three times (most recently in 2011-12). The Waves have produced 205 conference championships, 318 All-Americans and 53 Olympians. Located in scenic Malibu, California, the university overlooks the Pacific Ocean and its campus and athletic facilities are regularly voted among the nation's most beautiful. Pepperdine, which is affiliated with the Church of Christ, ranks #46 overall on U.S. News and World Report's list of America's best colleges.
