MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine men's tennis team had its first dual matches on Saturday, falling to Fresno State 6-1 and Abilene Christian 4-2.

MATCH RECAP
In the first match of the day, the Waves got off to a tough start in doubles, dropping the point to the Bulldogs. In singles,
Enrique Luque Rico (Cordoba, Spain) was the lone Wave to win his match, defeating Angus Bradshaw 6-1, 7-5 to give the Waves their lone point of the match.

In the match against Abilene Christian, it was decided to forgo the doubles portion of competition in favor of singles matches. Abilene Christian won all but one of the first sets, when
Tim Zeitvogel won the first set against Dimitris Azoides. He went on to win his match, the last on the courts, in the third set. Â The win was his first in his collegiate career. Luque Rico also won his match, defeating Jonathan Sheehy 3-6, 6-0, 6-3.
