One Singles Player, One Doubles Pair Advance Past Opening Rounds of Riviera/ITA Pre-Quals

MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine women's tennis team opened the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships pre-qualifying round at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center on Saturday and the Waves had one singles player and one doubles pair advance to day two of the tournament.
Adrijana Lekaj highlighted the day by winning both of her matches in the day, including a two-set win over #93 Asuka Kawai of Illinois to advance. Lekaj is now 2-1 against nationally ranked foes.

RIVIERA/ITA ALL-AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
This is the 34th-consecutive year of the tournament that invites the nation's top Division I women's players to compete. In addition to vying for the All-American national title, players will be competing to secure a berth into the 2018 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, which takes place November 7-11, in Surprise, Ariz. Singles quarterfinalists, consolations singles champion and finalist, along with doubles semifinalists and consolation doubles champion and finalist advance to the end of fall national championship.
