Harbison Named to MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List

MALIBU, California – Pepperdine senior Hailey Harbison, last season's West Coast Conference Defender of the Year, was named to the MAC Hermann Trophy watch list today.

The MAC Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious individual award in college soccer and is presented annually to the national player of the year.

Harbison (Rancho Penasquitos, Calif./Westview HS), who is starting her fifth year with the Waves, has had a decorated career to this point. She made the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region first team as a 2017 junior and a 2014 freshman, and the third team as a 2015 sophomore. She was picked to the All-WCC first team in 2017, the second team in 2015 and was honorable mention in 2014. She also earned the WCC Freshman of the Year award in 2014.

She has started all 61 games in which she's played, and has career totals of two goals and five assists for nine points.

Harbison has experience with U.S. Soccer, having attended a U-23 camp last year and U-20 camps in 2015 and 2016.

Last season, Pepperdine's Bri Visalli was a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, as was Lynn Williams in 2014.

The Pepperdine women's soccer team, ranked #18 to start this season and the defending WCC champion, has an exhibition match at CSUN on Friday (Aug. 10), then begins the regular season next weekend at Kansas (Aug. 17) and Texas Tech (Aug. 19).
