Heath Earns Preseason XC All-WCC Honors

MALIBU, California – Nick Heath of the Pepperdine men's cross country team has earned a spot on the 10-man preseason All-West Coast Conference team, as voted on by the league's coaches and announced today by the conference office.
A senior, Heath (Scotts Valley, Calif./Scotts Valley HS) is heading into his final year of a storied career with the Waves. In cross country, he holds the 8K and 10K school records, and last year he became the first Pepperdine men's runner to earn a spot on the podium at the WCC Championships since 2007, as he finished 15th and earned All-WCC honorable mention status.
Heath also holds three school records in track: the 3,000, 5,000 and 10,000 meters.
A standout in the classroom as well, Heath is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District first team selection and earned WCC All-Academic first team status each of the last two years.
The Waves were picked eighth out of nine teams in the preseason coaches' poll. They begin the 2018 campaign on Saturday, September 1, at the Mark Covert Classic in Brea, California.
