Waves Announce Two Additional Signees for 2019 Season

MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine baseball team added two recruits to its 2019 recruiting class, head coach Rick Hirtensteiner announced on Thursday.
Mitchell Dickson – 6'3", Catcher – Marcus HS – Flower Mound, Texas
Dickson hails from Flower Mound, Texas, where he has been a three-year standout at Marcus High School. As a sophomore, he earned honorable mention in the Texas 5-6A division and as a junior earned Texas 6-6A position player of the year.
On choosing Pepperdine, Dickson said, "Pepperdine is a melting pot of students from all walks of the world, all with different values, beliefs, ideals and backgrounds. Being able to listen to and appreciate all students with help me grow."
Tyler Murrah – 6'0", Left-Handed Pitcher – Jesuit College Prep – Dallas, Texas
Murrah is a left-handed pitcher from Dallas, Texas. He was the pitcher of the year in Texas 9-6A division in 2018 and was an honorable mention in 2017. Murrah has two career no-hitters to his credit and led the 6A division in strikeouts this past year.
When asked about why he chose Pepperdine, Murrah said, "Pepperdine is the perfect place to play college baseball. The team is like a family, the academics are great, and you get to play baseball in Malibu. It doesn't get much better than that."
Dickson and Murrah are the 11th and 12th recruits that the Waves have signed for the 2019 season.
