STILLWATER, Oklahoma " Pepperdine junior Hira Naveed improved by multiple strokes for the second straight day at the NCAA Championships, though her season came to an end after Sunday's third round.

Naveed (Perth, Australia) finished with a three-day total of 233 (80-78-75) and was tied for 98th place out of 132 golfers at the extremely tough par-72 Karsten Creek Golf Club. After today's round, only the top 15 teams and top nine individuals from non-advancing teams moved on to Monday's final round of stroke play.

Naveed had four birdies on Sunday, giving her a total of six over the three days. Starting on 10, she had a birdie on the par-4 13th hole. She had an impressive seven-hole stretch between 18 and 6, with back-to-back birdies on 18 and 1 and another one on 5, with four pars also in the run.

Naveed, a junior, qualified for the NCAA Championships as an individual after tying for sixth place at the NCAA San Francisco Regional. This is her second straight NCAA appearance, as she tied for 32nd place last year. Naveed is a three-time All-WCC first team honoree who is ranked 74th nationally by Golfstat.

In the team standings, Alabama (-2) has an eight-shot lead over UCLA (+6). Jennifer Kupcho of Wake Forest and Cheyenne Knight of Alabama are tied for the individual lead with 7-under 209s.
