April 16, 2018 First-Round Results 
SANTEE, California " The Pepperdine women's golf team has a one-shot lead after Monday's first round of the West Coast Conference Championships and both Momoka Kobori and Tatiana Wijaya are tied for second place in the individual standings.
The Waves shot an opening 303 at the par-72 Carlton Oaks Golf Club. BYU is one shot back, and Gonzaga is six strokes behind.
Pepperdine has won a WCC-record 17 titles though the Waves are looking for their first championship since 2015.

- Sophomore Momoka Kobori (Rangiora, New Zealand) is tied for second place after a 2-over 74. She had one birdie and 14 pars.
- Senior Tatiana Wijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia) is also tied for second place with a 2-over 74. She had her only birdie and was 1-under through 11 holes. Her 15 pars led all players. Kobori and Wijaya are one shot off the lead.
- Junior Hira Naveed (Perth, Australia) is tied for seventh place after a 75. She birdied two of her final three holes.
- Junior Hannah Haythorne (Honolulu, Hawai'i/IMG Academy) is tied for 15th place with an 80. She had three birdies on the day.
- Senior Katherine Zhu (Vancouver, B.C.) is tied for 21st place after an 82. She had one birdie.

Pepperdine, BYU and Gonzaga will begin the second round off the #1 tee at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday. The third and final round is Wednesday.
