
Men's Golf Completes Valspar Invitational

PALM CITY, Florida - The Pepperdine men's golf team finished up the Valspar Collegiate Invitational on Tuesday in 14th place. Joshua McCarthy was the Waves' top finisher in a tie for 18th place.
The invitational was one of the top tournaments in the nation, with 10 top-25 schools in the field. Thirteen of the16 schools were in the top-40 according to Golfweek/Sagarin. The Waves went into the week ranked 21st in the country.

- Sophomore Joshua McCarthy (Danville, Calif./De La Salle HS) finished in a tie for 18th place with a three-day total of 214 (71-68-75). He was tied for third with 14 birdies on the week.
- Senior Anthony Cecere (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) shot 75 to finish in a tie for 38th place at 219 (73-71-75). Cecere had 35 pars on the week to lead the Waves.
- Junior Sahith Theegala (Chino Hills, Calif./Diamond Bar HS) completed the tournament in a tie for 58th place. He shot 72-77-75 over the three days.
- Sophomore Clay Feagler (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Dana Hills HS) finished in a tie for 66th place (76-70-80).
- Junior Roy Cootes (Rolling Hills, Calif./Palos Verdes HS) finished in 89th place.

The Waves take two weeks off before traveling to Santa Cruz for the Western Intercollegiate Apr. 7-8.
