SAN DIEGO, Calif. " The Pepperdine women's basketball team fell 79-53 to San Diego in Jenny Craig Pavilion on Thursday night, despite solid Yasmine Robinson-Bacote and Paige Fecske performances.
The Waves (8-15, 4-9 WCC) trailed 27-12 after the first quarter to the Toreros (13-11, 6-7) and were unable to overcome that deficit throughout the game.

- Yasmine Robinson-Bacote led the team with 19 points on eight made from the field. She added six rebounds and three steals.
- Paige Fecske was good for six from the field and three from long for 15 points all night. She led the team with seven boards and five assists.
- Peyton Langston was good for nine points on a 4-5 output from field goal range.
- Megan House posted two block and Rose Pflug added two steals.

- San Diego led the court by hitting 47.8 % from the field compared to Pepperdine's 37.9%.
- The Toreros also led with 42.9% from three-point range and 70.0 from the free throw line, while the Waves put up 27.8 from long and 50.0% from the line.
- Pepperdine marked 31 rebounds, 11 assists and eight steals, while the opposition was good for 44 boards, 23 assists and nine steals.
- The Waves led the game with eight blocks, while the Toreros only posted one throughout.

Robinson-Bacote started the half with a jumper and one and the Waves continued to roll with a three from Fecske to help the cause and close the gap to 39-32. Pepperdine and San Diego traded buckets throughout the quarter, but the Toreros put up a 62-42 lead heading into the final quarter. The Waves once again opened the quarter with a three from Peyton Langston and a jumper from Monique Andriuolo, with both assisted by Fecske to close the gap, but a series of missed opportunities late in the game resulted in a 79-53 final score.
