GAME RECAP
The first quarter of the game was a defensive stalemate, with only 15 points being scored between both teams. Northern Kentucky went on a 6-0 run toward the end of the quarter and took an 8-7 lead after the first ten minutes of play. Northern Kentucky's offense came alive in the second quarter, going on another run, this time 7-0 to take a 10-point lead with five minutes left in the quarter. Pepperdine managed to scrape a basket back and trailed 23-15 going into halftime.

The Norse came out of the locker rooms on a tear, starting the half by jumping ahead of the Waves by 13 points, their largest lead of the game. Halfway through the quarter, the Waves began to full-court press the Norse, resulting in a few steals and a key five-second violation, which allowed the Waves to pull within five points at the end of the quarter.

Pepperdine completed the comeback in the fourth quarter thanks to two free throws from Megan House (Oceanside, Calif./J. Serra HS) and took a 34-33 lead. The free throws were the beginning of a 12-0 Pepperdine run, resulting in a 43-33 lead for the Waves, their largest of the game. The Norse pulled to within three points, but timely shooting sealed the victory for the Waves.
