Box Score SEATTLE, Wash. – The Pepperdine women's basketball team is off to their best start since the 1997-98 season after defeating Seattle University 78-64 on Sunday. The Waves had two double-digit scorers in Yasmine Robinson-Bacote and Deezha Battle.

The Waves (4-1) took great advantage of the Redhawks' (0-8) 21 turnovers, scoring 25 points off turnovers.

BIG WAVES

• Yasmine Robinson-Bacote (Hillside, N.J./Hillside HS) scored 18 points and had eight rebounds, both team highs.
• Deezha Battle (Albuquerque, N.M./Cochise College) had 14 points, the most points she has had as a Wave. She also had four rebounds and four assists and shot 2-4 for beyond the arc.
• Skye Lindsay (Orem, Utah/Mountain View HS) had eight points and five rebounds.

GAME RECAP
The Waves started off the game with the hot hand, going on a 10-3 run to open scoring. Robinson-Bacote had the first eight points for the Waves. The Redhawks went on run toward the end of the quarter, at one point taking a one-point lead, but the Waves ended the quarter leading 15-14.

The second quarter was much of the same, as the Waves jumped out to a 27-23 lead before the Redhawks tied it at 27. The two teams traded points until halftime, when the Waves hit a jumper with 26 seconds left, and went into the halftime break leading 31-29.

Pepperdine took control in the third quarter, going on a 13-point run, taking a 50-33 lead with three minutes left in the quarter. The Waves held the Redhawks to just 10 points in the third, taking a 54-39 lead into the last eight minutes. Both teams had their best quarter in the fourth, with the Redhawks scoring 25 points to the Waves 24, but the deficit was too great to overcome, as the Waves held on to win.

The Waves are back in action on Wednesday, when they have their first home game of the year. They take on Weber State in Firestone Fieldhouse at 7 pm.
