Kosa and Dilworth Named All-Americans

MALIBU, Calif. – The Pepperdine men's water polo team had two members that were named All-Americans on Monday. Balazs Kosa (Budapest, Hungary/Csik Ferenc Altalanos Iskola es Gimnazium) was named to the Third Team and Chris Dilworth (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Thousand Oaks HS) was named an honorable mention.

Kosa had a stellar freshman campaign at Pepperdine. After missing the first four games while playing with the Hungarian National Team in the European Championships, Kosa went on to lead the team in goals, with 53 and points, with 77. He was also second on the team in assists, with 24. In Golden Coast Conference play, he shined as well, scoring 12 goals and assisting on three more. In the GCC Tournament, he had four goals against UC Irvine, helping the team to a third-place finish, and being named to the All-Tournament team.

Dilworth was equally as impressive during the season. He lead the team in exclusions drawn (43) and shooting percentage (.531) and was second on the team in goals scored with 51 and second on the team in points with 61.

The two selections of Kosa and Dilworth add to Pepperdine water polo's already stellar number of All-American Honorees, which now totals 98, making it one of the most successful programs in the country. The two selections also mark the third year in a row that Pepperdine has had two or more All-American honorees. It is the first All-American honor for both athletes.
