Pepperdine Dominates Opening Rounds of ITA Fall Nationals

SURPRISE, Ariz. – The Pepperdine women's tennis team had three singles and one doubles pair advanced through the opening rounds of the Oracle ITA Fall National Championships at Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex on Wednesday.
Jessica Failla highlighted with a three-set upset victory over #35 Sophie Whittle of fellow West Coast Conference competitor Gonzaga. #4 Ashley Lahey and #41 Evgeniya Levashova also dominated with a pair of two-set wins over their respective opponents, with Levashova's being earned over a #45-ranked opponent.
Lahey and Levashova, ranked #26 in the fall Oracle/ITA doubles rankings, also turned in a stellar performance after downing their #14-ranked opposition from Wichita State in two sets.
