Kosa Shines in Waves' Dominant Win

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 7 Pepperdine men's water polo team had a monster showing from freshman Balazs Kosa en route to a 16-7 victory over Santa Clara. This was Kosa's second seven-goal game of the year.
The Waves (15-10) defeated the Broncos (10-13) in the final non-conference game of the year.
GAME RECAP
Sean Ferrari (Redwood City, Calif./St. Francis HS) started the game off, getting his first goal of the quarter to start the scoring. After a single Santa Clara goal, it was all Waves, as Kosa (Budapest, Hungary/Csik Ferenc Általános Iskola És Gimnázium) and Ferrari traded goals, Kosa scoring three and Ferrari getting one more to give the Waves a 5-1 lead after one quarter.
The second quarter was all Waves. Kosa scored three more goals, getting his total to six on the day up to that point. Michael Dakis (Orinda, Calif./Miramonte HS), Sam Paur (Poway, Calif./Poway HS) and Curtis Jarvis (Huntington Beach, Calif./Huntington Beach HS) all scored to give the Waves a 11-3 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, the Waves picked up where they left off, with Mate Toth (Balatonalmadi, Hungary/Szilagyi Erzsebet Boarding School) scoring first for the Waves. Kosa added his seventh goal of the game as well, followed by a goal from Jacob Watson (Westlake Village, Calif./Oaks Christian HS) to give the Waves a 15-5 lead going into the final period of play.
The Waves had just a single goal in the final period of play from Toth, sealing the victory.
