Waves Suffer First Loss at Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. – The Pepperdine women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season to Colorado on Tuesday night. Yasmine Robinson-Bacote kept up her scoring ways by scoring 25 points, leading all scorers.
The Buffaloes (6-0) defeated the Waves (3-1) 80-65, backed by two 18-point scorers.
KEY STATS
The Buffaloes got off to a hot start, jumping out to a 10-4 lead in the first five minutes. Pepperdine fought back and after trailing by as many as 10 in the first, ended the quarter trailing 22-15. In the second quarter, the Waves went on a 15-6 run to end the half, thanks to seven points from Robinson-Bacote. At the half, the Buffaloes led 43-38.
The Waves came out of halftime hot, tying the game at 43 and then again at 47. They took the lead briefly at 52-50 with 5:49 left in the quarter. Back and forth scoring at the end of the quarter left the score tied going into the final period of play. Colorado went on a 12-0 run to start the fourth quarter and never looked back. The Buffaloes held the Waves to just seven points in the quarter, sealing the victory.

The Waves are back in action on Sunday, Dec. 2 when they travel to Washington to take on Seattle University. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
