MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine men's golf team will add an impressive three-man recruiting class in fall 2019 to what should already be one of the nation's top teams, as head coach
Michael Beard announced his National Letter of Intent signees today.
Pepperdine has signed three Southern Californians:
Tristan Gretzky,
Dylan Menante and
William Mouw.
The Waves, currently ranked 11th by Golfweek/Sagarin, 15th by Golfstat and 15th in the Golfweek/Bushnell coaches poll, will lose one senior at the conclusion of this season, but will get back two-time All-American
Sahith Theegala from injury in addition to bringing back an experienced, successful core along with this new talented recruiting class.

Tristan Gretzky
Westlake Village, Calif./Oaks Christian HS
Had two top-10 showings on the Toyota Tour Cup in 2016 and two top-20 results in 2017 ... Took second at the 2017 CIF Northern Individuals ... As a freshman, was the 2016 Daily News Newcomer of the Year ... Helped Oaks Christian to 2017 and 2018 CIF Southern Section Central Coast Division titles ... He is the son of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky ... His brother Trevor was an MLB Draft pick of the Chicago Cubs and his brother-in-law is PGA Tour standout Dustin Johnson.
Beard says: "Tristan has impressed us with his athleticism and attitude. He's a late bloomer with a great upside. He's a great fit for our program and the university."
Gretzky says: "My life goal is to be on the PGA Tour and Pepperdine is the college that will give me the chance to make it. The players and coaching staff are the best in the country and I'm looking forward to spending the next couple of years grinding with them."
Dylan Menante
Carlsbad, Calif./Sage Creek HS
Named to the 2018 AJGA Rolex All-American honorable mention team ... Currently ranked #23 by the AJGA (#11 in the class of 2019) ... Has two AJGA wins and three top-10 finishes at AJGA invitational events ... Played in the 2018 U.S. Amateur Championship ... Placed third at the 2017 California State Boys Junior Amateur Championship ... In high school, made the 2018 All-CIF first team and was second team in 2017 ... Father (Dean) and mother (Lisa) attended Nevada and played golf and tennis, respectively.
Beard says: "Dylas has consistently improved each year as a junior. He's played his way to the top of his graduating class. We feel his grittiness and competitive nature will impact the team immediately. He's a quality person and a great student, and we can't wait for Dylan to join the program."
Menante says: "I chose Pepperdine because it's small Christian school, close to home, and has a competitive golf program with a great coaching staff and a great reputation."
William Mouw
Chino, Calif./Ontario Christian HS
A two-time Rolex All-American (2017 first team, 2018 second team) ... Currently ranked #10 by the AJGA (#6 in the class of 2019) and was #1 for four weeks in May 2017 ... Ranked as high as #35 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings ... Played in the 2018 U.S. Amateur Championship at Pebble Beach and reached the round of 16 ... Has three Toyota Tour Cup wins and five top five AJGA finishes ... Won the 2017 Western Junior Championship ... Played on the winning Junior Presidents Cup team in 2017 ... Won the 13/14 division at the 2015 Junior World Golf Championships ... In high school, a three-time Ambassador League MVP and league champion ... Won the 2018 CIF Southern Section championship.
Beard says: "As one of the best players in the country, William is an impressive golfer but he's an even more impressive person. He is a perfect fit for everything here at Pepperdine. We are very excited about William's addition to the Pepperdine family."

The Waves continue the 2018-19 season at The Prestige at PGA West from February 18-20.
