MALIBU, California – The Pepperdine men's and women's basketball teams made their first public appearances at the annual Blue & Orange Madness on Friday night in Firestone Fieldhouse.
 
Waves fans were treated to a national anthem performance by Won by One, the crowning of the Waves Court, the introduction of the men's and women's teams, a lesson in fansmanship from head coaches Lorenzo Romar and DeLisha Milton-Jones, a slam-dunk contest that was won by freshman Kessler Edwards and a performance by the Pepperdine Step Team. As usual, the night ended with the entire crowd joining the teams on the floor for the Cupid Shuffle.

The men's basketball team has its season and home opener on Wednesday, November 7, against Cal State Dominguez Hills. The women start at Hawai'i on Tuesday, November 6, and have their home opener on Friday, November 16, against UC Irvine.
