WOLCOTT, Colorado " Led by top-10 finishes from Momoka Kobori and Hira Naveed, the Pepperdine women's golf team captured its sixth top-two finish at the Golfweek Conference Challenge in the last nine years on Wednesday.
The Waves won the inaugural event in 2009, then posted three straight victories from 2012-14, and now have consecutive second-place results.
Pepperdine finished two strokes behind Denver at the par-72 Red Sky Golf Club. The Waves had a strong final round of 4-under, moving them up two spots on the team leaderboard and giving them a three-day total of 874 (290-300-284).

- Sophomore Momoka Kobori (Rangiora, New Zealand) had the Waves' best round of the day, a 2-under 70, which moved her up to a tie for seventh place with an even-par 216 (72-74-70). Her round included five birdies, four of which came in a seven-hole stretch. The tie for seventh matched her career-best finish.
- Junior Hira Naveed (Perth, Australia) matched Kobori as the top-finishing Wave. She also tied for seventh place with an even-par 216 (70-74-72). Her even-par round included two birdies.
- Junior Hannah Haythorne (Honolulu, Hawai'i/IMG Academy) jumped up to a tie for 26th at 222 (76-75-71). Her 1-under score today had four birdies. She had 10 birdies in all, tying Naveed for the team high.
- Senior Tatiana Wijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia) tied for 38th at 224 (72-77-75).
- Senior Katherine Zhu (Vancouver, B.C.) had her best round with a 1-under, moving her up to a tie for 45th at 225 (77-77-71). She had four birdies on Wednesday.
