Why She Chose Pepperdine: "I chose Pepperdine because of its superior tradition of academic and athletic excellence, the fantastic coaching staff, the family oriented atmosphere and, of course, the location."
Head Coach Tim Ward on Aliyah: "Aliyah comes to us from our local ECNL club, Real SoCal. She has been mentored by some very good coaches over the last few years who happen to be some of my very good friends. She is a wonderful player that is continually growing her game in the right direction. When we first saw Aliyah it was at one of our ID clinics and we thought at the time that she was going to be more of a play-making midfielder. Since that time, though, she has gone on to find a very consistent and very impressive scoring touch. This young lady has a wonderful knack for finding the back of the net and that is perhaps the hardest thing in the game to teach. So we can see her contributing to our program either in our front line or in midfield. Besides the fact that she is a great player, we also love the fact that Aliyah has shown tremendous faith to be at Pepperdine. She was a late recruit for us and that meant we couldn't guarantee her admission to our University. But she and her family showed amazing patience and determination in getting everything together in a very short amount of time to make this a reality. We feel super honored and blessed that Aliyah will add to our already amazing class of 2017's and can't wait to start working with her in August."
