April 6, 2017 MALIBU, Calif. - Pepperdine women's soccer players Rylee Baisden and Hannah Seabert will be joining professional clubs after finishing up their senior seasons this past fall.
Baisden has signed a contract to join Skovde KIK in Sweden and Seabert will be joining the Orlando Pride in the NWSL.
Seabert, who will be with the Pride as the team's third goalie, finished her career as one of the all-time best keeper's in Pepperdine history. Seabert closed her tenure as the Pepperdine record holder with 331 career saves. She is second in career wins as a goalkeeper with 46, third with a 0.90 goals against average, third with 28 career solo shutouts, fourth with a career .813 save percentage and fifth with 4.03 saves per game. Seabert was named the West Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Year this past season and to the All-WCC first team, and was an NSCAA All-Region honoree twice in her career. She connected with the Pride after working with the club's former goalkeeper coach at the Unites State U23 training camp this past January.
Basiden also finished up a stellar career with the Waves this past fall, earning All-WCC first team honors as a senior. For her career, Baisden scored 12 goals, notched 10 assists and played in a total of 78 games for the Waves. She led the team in both goals and assists this past season and was tied for the team lead in assists as a junior as well. Baisden was invited to several workouts with NWSL clubs before deciding to sign with the Skovde. Skovde plays in the third tier of the Swedish system and participates in the promotion and relegation system with the Damallsvenskan (top tier) and Elitettan (second tier). There are a total of eight tiers in Sweden.
