Final Results

SAN LUIS OBISPO, California " Freshman Momoka Kobori finished in a tie for seventh to help the Pepperdine women's golf team to sixth-place finish at its own Bruin Wave Invitational on Tuesday.

The Waves finished with a two-day total of 929 (301-316-312) at the par-73 San Luis Obispo Country Club. The five teams ahead of them are all ranked in the top 40, including #1 Stanford, which won the tournament by one stroke over co-host and #9 UCLA.

Kobori (Rangiora, New Zealand) recorded her first top-10 finish as a college player with a 6-over 225 (72-75-78).

Also in the lineup, junior Tatiana Wijaya (Jakarta, Indonesia) tied for 22nd at 233 (76-82-75), sophomore Hira Naveed (Perth, Australia) tied for 37th at 238 (76-77-85), junior Katherine Zhu (Vancouver, B.C.) tied for 42nd at 239 (77-83-79) and senior Alessandra Arza (Asuncion, Paraguay) tied for 56th at 243 (81-82-80).

Playing as individuals, sophomore Patricia Wong (Walnut, Calif./Walnut HS) tied for 22nd at 233 (74-77-82) and sophomore Hannah Haythorne (Honolulu, Hawai'i/IMG Academy) tied for 37th at 238 (84-77-77).

Haythorne, Kobori, Naveed and Wong all had six birdies over the two days. Wijaya recorded four of them in the third round.

Pepperdine is next in action at the Bay Area Intercollegiate on March 6-7 in Fairfax, California.
