
Waves End Fall With Good Round in Hawai'i

LAHAINA, Maui " The Pepperdine men's golf team posted a good showing in its final round of the fall season, as the Waves moved up a few spots on Sunday and into a seventh-place finish at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic, led by a tie for fifth by Sahith Theegala.
The Waves went from a tie for 10th up to seventh thanks to a final-round 6-under 278, which tied the low team score of the day. Pepperdine finished with a 2-under 850 (276-296-278) over the three days at the par-71 Ka'anapali Golf Course.

- Junior Sahith Theegala (Chino Hills, Calif./Diamond Bar HS) earned his second top-five and third top-10 results in five tournaments this fall. He shot a 4-under 67 to close it out and finished with an 8-under 205 (66-72-67). He had five birdies and just one bogey on Sunday. He led the team with 14 birdies overall. His career totals now include 49 below-par rounds (fourth all-time at Pepperdine) and 22 top-20 finishes (ninth).
- Sophomore Clay Feagler (Laguna Niguel, Calif./Dana Hills HS) had his best result of the fall, a tie for 14th place with a 4-under 209 (68-73-68). His second 3-under of the tournament included five birdies. He had 12 birdies for the tournament.
- Junior Roy Cootes (Rolling Hills, Calif./Palos Verdes HS) moved up nearly 30 spots after a 1-under 70 took him to a tie for 45th place at 218 (71-77-70). His round included two birdies and an eagle on the par-5 sixth hole.
- Senior Anthony Cecere (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif./St. Margaret's Episcopal School) tied for 49th at 219 (71-74-74). He had 39 pars over three days, two shy of the most in the tournament.
- Sophomore Joshua McCarthy (Danville, Calif./De La Salle HS) tied for 69th at 222 (71-78-73).
