Urban Earns GCC Player of the Week Honors

MALIBU, Calif. - Mark Urban was named Golden Coast Conference Player of the Week Thursday morning. Urban is the third member of the Pepperdine men's water polo team to earn the honor this season, joining Zack Rhodes and Sam Paur.
Urban (Budapest, Hungary/Diablo Valley College) earned the honor after helping the Waves to a 3-0 record in the past week, including a GCC victory over San Jose State on Oct. 27. He had seven goals, including five against Claremont Mudd-Scripps on Saturday, Oct. 28. He also had two assists on the week, giving him nine points for the week.
The Waves are back in action on Friday in Irvine as they take on UC Irvine in a GCC matchup. They conclude the regular season the following week, with a home game against Santa Barbara on Nov. 10.
